Between 2014 and 2020, Italy will invest 35 billion euros for the efficiency of the building stock, renewable energy and the transformation of urban centers into smart cities.

The Smart City Index is the indicator of the intelligence of 116 Italian municipalities evaluated on the basis of the scores achieved in over 400 indicators.

The positive indicators taken into consideration are: diffusion of solar thermal and photovoltaic energy, smart grids, building efficiency, environmental monitoring and percentage of waste from separate waste collection.

Over 400 indicators, almost 50,000 measurements a year.
